BCV was a revolutionary treatment, facilitating patients respiratory support needs, without the side effects of PPV, or a facial mask interface.

The late Dr Zamir Hayek, a world-renowned physician in the field of respiratory care and pediatrics was the inventor of the Hayek RTX series of ventilators and a leading pioneer in the field of cuirass ventilation. Hayek Medical was setup to develop and market a ventilator that would come as close as possible to the ‘ideal’ mechanical ventilator. Dr Hayek’s vision was to create a device that would overcome many of the problems associated with existing ventilation techniques, and provide a better quality of life for ventilator dependent patients. Through patents and using his revolutionary ventilatory concept (BCV) the Hayek RTX series of respirators were developed, meeting the requirements of his ‘dream machine’. There have been over 300 publications to date on his method
